The Belgian lifted her spirits after a dismal Australian Open as she won the home WTA Diamond Games 6-3 6-3 over Italian challenger Karin Knapp.

Belgian world number one Justine Henin won the Antwerp Diamond Games with a 6-3 6-3 victory over unseeded Italian Karin Knapp.
Henin broke Knapp to race to a 5-2 lead in the first set before the Italian broke back. Knapp dropped her serve in the next game to give Henin the set.
The Belgian broke again in the second set and although Knapp had a chance to break back in the seventh game her forehand was long. Henin held serve to win.

Justine Henin will face Italian outsider Karin Knapp in the final of the last Diamond Games on Sunday hoping to bid an emotional farewell to her home tournament with victory.
The world number one took a step closer to her dream of a first title on home ground with a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 semi-final victory over Swiss qualifier Timea Bacsiszky on Saturday while Knapp put out China's Li Na 6-4, 7-6 (7/5).

World number one Justine Henin reached the final of the WTA tournament in Antwerp on Saturday but had to rally from a set down to beat Timea Bacsinszky of Switzerland.
Qualifier Bacsinszky gave Henin a real scare before the Belgian prevailed 2-6 6-3 6-3.
In Sunday's final, Henin will play China's Li Na or Karin Knapp of Italy, who play their semifinal match later Saturday.

Home favourite Justine Henin eased past Russian qualifier Alisa Kleybanova 6-4, 6-3 to reach the semi-finals of the WTA Diamond Games on Friday.
The world number one, who is playing for the final time in Belgium as the tournament ends its run due to a calendar change, will face off on Saturday against another outsider in the shape of Timea Bacsinszky.
The Swiss qualifier progressed when third seeded Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova pulled out of their quarter-final suffering from a heavy cold while trailing 6-2, 4-6, 4-1.

Swiss teenage qualifier Timea Bacsinszky pounced on an underdone and ailing Daniela Hantuchova as the third seed retired to hand over a 6-2, 4-6, 4-1 win in the quarter-final of the Proximus Diamond Games on Friday.
Hantuchova was joined as an upset victim on the day by Swiss fourth seed Patty Schnyder, ambushed 6-2, 6-7 (1-7), 7-6 (7-2) by Italian Karin Knapp.

Justine Henin made a stirring return to tennis three weeks after a heartbreaking Australian Open loss, fighting past qualifier Tsvetana Pironkova on Thursday at the WTA Diamond Games to the delight of thousands of home fans.
The Belgian world number one kept a crowd of 13,000 on the edge of their seats in the early stages of a tight contest before pulling out a 6-7 (4/7), 6-3, 6-1 second-round victory in two hours, 19 minutes.

Second-seeded Anna Chakvetadze crashed out of the Diamond Games on Thursday with a 6-3, 7-5 defeat at the hands of Sweden's Sofia Arvidsson.
Ranked sixth in the world after winning the Open Gaz de France on Sunday, Chakvetadze was unable to get her game going against Arvidsson, who is 60 places below the Russian in the WTA rankings.

Wednesday's play at the Sportpaleis Antwerpen was devoid of any significant upsets as all three seeds on display made their way into the quarterfinals of the Proximus Diamond Games. No.3 seed Daniela Hantuchova was responsible for ending the dreams of home favorite Yanina Wickmayer, while No.4 Patty Schnyder and No.9 Li Na also progressed courtesy of straight-set victories.
