A DecoTurf surface will be used for next year's Olympic Games, it has been announced.
DecoTurf II is the same hardcourt surface used at the US Open and will ensure some continuity on the amended ATP and WTA Tour calendars in 2008.
The Olympic tennis tournament takes place in Beijing from August 10-17 next year. The US Open, the year's final Grand Slam event, starts on August 25.
"DecoTurf is honoured and gratified to be selected as the tennis surface for the Beijing Olympics" said John Graham, managing director of Deco Turf.
"We look forward to working with BOCOG and the ITF to ensure an outstanding tennis venue."
As a result of the Olympics in 2008, several tournaments on the ATP schedule have been moved.
The Legg Mason Classic in Washington DC will be played in the same week as the Olympics, while events in Delray Beach, Zagreb, Estoril, Munich, Casablanca and Sopot have all been given new dates.
