Mark's Acapulco quarter final selections
Fernando Verdasco (ESP) v Juan Monaco (ARG) - Wonderful match here. Verdasco has more brilliance but Monaco has more determination. The Spaniard has improved each match in Mexico and he should be too potent for the Argentine. It will be very close but im tipping the top seed.
Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP) v Nicolas Almagro (ESP) - Almagro is the two-time defending champ but the veteran Ferrero just keeps winning. Another match that should go the distance but Ferrero's consistency could upset Almagro here. The younger Spaniard has all the shots but he meets the best player on clay at the moment. Ferrero in three sets.
Pablo Cuevas (URU) v David Ferrer (ESP) - This should be a comfortable win here to Ferrer. He is a class above Cuevas and i dont think this match will last too long. The Spanish bull handled Bellucci with ease yesterday and a similar result will happen again.
Eduardo Schwank (ARG) v Fernando Gonzalez (CHI) - Gonzalez has beaten two tough opponents this week (Querrey and Hanescu) and he will find this match alot easier. Schwank is a tough player when he is on but the Chilean is too good to lose a match like this. Gonzo into the semis.
