Russian Dmitry Tursunov set up a second-round clash with world number three Novak Djokovic when he blasted past French wildcard Adrian Mannarino 6-3 6-2 in the opening match of the Paris Masters Series on Sunday.
Tursunov, the world number 26 after titles in Sydney and Metz this year, was never bothered by the world number 136, whom he broke five times to win in 78 minutes.
The three remaining spots for the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai are up for grabs in Paris but none of the contenders were in action on Sunday.
