The Beijing Olympics are rewriting the Pilot Pen draw.

World No. 10 Agnieszka Radwanska, who was the highest-ranked woman to commit to the Pilot Pen, and 16th-ranked Victoria Azarenka have both withdrawn from the Pilot Pen Tennis, set for August 17-23 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.

Though no official reason was given for the withdrawals, it's likely both players — who are scheduled to play singles and doubles at the Olympics — are opting to schedule a week of rest after playing the Beijing Olympic Games, which will be contested Sunday, August 10 through Sunday, August  17 at the new Olympic Tennis Center in Beijing, China. The competition will include 64-player men’s and women’s singles draws and a 32-team draw in men’s and women’s doubles.

World No. 14 Agnes Szavay, the 2007 New Haven runner-up to Svetlana Kuznetsova is now the highest-ranked woman in the Pilot Pen field.

Tsvetana Pironkova and Sorana Cirstea will replace Radwanska and Azarenka in the New Haven field.
