Marin Cilic and Mario Ancic ensured an all-Croatian final in the 450,000-euro (574,000-dollar) Zagreb ATP tournament on Saturday after defeating Viktor Troicki of Serbia and Czech Jan Hernych respectively.

Second-seeded Cilic eased to a 6-2, 7-5 victory in a match lasting one hour and 25 minutes.

The first set was resolved in the fifth game when Cilic secured a break for a 3-2 lead before the 22-year-old Serbian needed treatment on a back injury. With Troicki struggling, Cilic secured victory courtesy of a break in the 11th game for a 6-5 lead.

"The turning point of the match was the break in the first set," the 20-year-old Cilic said. "Everything was much easier afterwards. I felt Troicki was losing his strength."

Seventh-seeded Ancic beat Hernych 6-7 (4/7), 6-3, 7-6 (11/9) in a three-hour, seven-minute thriller.

After leading 2-0 in the first set, Ancic then dropped serve twice and the Czech won the opener on a breaker.

After smoothly winning the second set 6-3, Ancic was then on the verge of defeat as Hernych led 5-3 in the final set and was serving. However, the Croatian managed to secure a tie-break that he won on a third match point.

"I was constantly feeling pressure on his serve. Hernych played maybe the best match of his career," said world 29 Ancic.
