Cilic eases through in Zagreb
Australian Open semi-finalist Marin Cilic cruised through his opening match at ATP Zagreb with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Jan Hajek.
Croatian Cilic broke his opponent's serve four times during the match, and though Hajek forced a break point in the second set to give himself hope Cilic saved it and completed an easy victory.
Second-seeded Ivan Ljubicic joined Cilic in the second round after a 7-6(4) 6-3 win over French veteran Arnaud Clement.
Juergen Melzer of Austria progressed to the third round after crushing Belgium's Olivier Rochus, while Ukraine's Illya Marchenko held firm against the resistance of Croatian Ivan Dodig, with Dodig saving 10 break points despite losing 6-4 6-2.
