Cilic moves into quarters

Croatian Marin Cilic eased into the quarter-finals in Zagreb with a 6-2 6-1 win over German Daniel Koellerer.
He will face Ivo Karlovic in the last eight after the fellow Croat beat French qualifier Alexandre Sidorenko 7-6(4) 7-6(8).

Defending champion Cilic wowed his home support by dropping just seven points on his serve.

Cilic, 22, has started 2010 in style by winning in Chennai and reaching the semis of the Australian Open, where he lost to Andy Murray.

Lukas Lacko of Slovakia advanced in Zagreb after beating Croatian Ivan Ljubicic, 7-6(3) 5-7 7-6(5).

His next opponent is German Philipp Petzschner, who beat compatriot Benjamin Becker 1-6 7-6(4) 7-6(6) after saving a match point in the third-set tie-break.

Germany's Michael Berrer progressed with a 6-4 6-3 win over Croatia's Petar Jelenic.
