Rafael Nadal, Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez will contest the 2009 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Final, announced captain Albert Costa on Monday.

Costa had the difficult task of choosing four players from a choice of six who have helped Spain to its fourth Davis Cup Final in the last ten years, and has decided to sideline Tommy Robredo and Juan Carlos Ferrero for the end-of-year finale.

Verdasco, Ferrer and Lopez were part of the winning team in the 2009 final against Argentina, while Nadal will be appearing in his first Davis Cup Final since 2004, having had to withdraw from last year's line-up with a knee injury. This will also be world No. 2 Nadal's first appearance for Spain since the first round tie against Serbia in March due to a season blighted by injury.

The final will be played on indoor clay at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona on 4-6 December. Spain has a favourable record heading into this year's final, having won its last 19 ties on clay and last 17 at home.
