Second seed Novak Djokovic bounced back from a quarter-final exit at Roland Garros with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-3 win over Paolo Lorenzi of Italy in 73 minutes at the AEGON Championships on Wednesday.

Djokovic, the 2008 runner-up, who is making his third appearance at the ATP World Tour 250 grass-court tournament, saved all six break points he faced to improve to a 26-8 match record on the season. Lorenzi, 28, dropped to a 3-12 season mark.
American Sam Querrey, who admitted to being a little disillusioned after a first round exit to compatriot Robby Ginepri at Roland Garros, got immediate revenge mid-afternoon.

Querrey won 81 per cent of service points and hit 10 aces to beat compatriot Robby Ginepri 7-6(4), 6-2 in 63 minutes and later admitted, “I went home for six days and didn't pick up a racquet or anything.  Now I'm feeling good. I had fun out there [and] I thought I played really well.

“I think I just kind of tapped out a little bit. I'm going to learn from that [and] try not to play the week before Grand Slams. I kind of know that after three weeks in a row or so, I've reached my max or my limit and I need to take a week off after that.”

He goes onto meet Spaniard Marcel Granollers, who ousted Marc Gicquel of France 6-1, 6-4 in one hour.
