Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic will return to defend their titles at the Sony Ericsson Open, March 26-April 6 on Key Biscayne.
Williams, going after her record-tying fifth win at Crandon Park Tennis Center, and Djokovic are among the top 79 men and the top 75 women competing at the Sony Ericsson this year.
World No. 1 Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick, James Blake and Nikolay Davydenko are among the men expected to challenge Djokovic for the title. Djokovic, who won his first career grand slam singles title at the Australian Open last month, was the youngest men's champ in the history of the Crandon Park event when he won at 19.
Williams, seeking to tie Steffi Graf for the most titles, will be up against a field that includes Australian Open champ Maria Sharapova, 2007 runner-up Justine Henin, Lindsay Davenport, Venus Williams and Jelena Jankovic.
The March 24-25 qualifying rounds will determine 12 more slots in each singles draw, and five men's wild cards and nine women's wild cards will also be awarded.
