Fed Cup - Kuznetsova added to Russia team

World number four Svetlana Kuznetsova has been added to Russia's team for this weekend's Fed Cup first-round tie against Serbia.

Russia captain Shamil Tarpishchev was originally forced to name a second-string squad after all the leading players turned down the invitation.

French Open champion Kuznetsova then changed her mind and will join 31st-ranked Alisa Kleybanova, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (38) and Vera Dushevina (40) in the team.

She replaces Australian Open mixed doubles finalist Ekaterina Makarova for the tie in Belgrade. Russia, who won the Fed Cup four times between 2004 and 2008, lost to eventual champions Italy in last year's semi-finals.
