The Rogers Cup has received an infusion of experience. A trio of veterans — fourth-ranked Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova, 13th-ranked Swiss Patty Schnyder and 37th-ranked Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn — have committed to competing in the tournament, set for July 26-August 3rd at Uniprix Stadium in Montréal.

They join top-10 players Ana Ivanovic, Jelena Jankovic, Maria Sharapova, Elena Dementieva, and Venus Williams, who confirmed her presence on June 18.

Kuznetsova, Schnyder, and Tanasugarn replace three players who pulled out: Edina Gallovits of Romania (foot fracture), Casey Dellacqua of Australia (shoulder injury), and Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands (knee injury).
