Miami Friday Preview
A pair of former ATP World Tour champions, a player making his second semi-final appearance and a new face in the final four lead the Sony Ericsson Open action on Friday.
No. 4 seed and 2008 World No. 1 Rafael Nadal takes a 5-2 career record against No. 6 seed and 2003 World No. 1 Andy Roddick in the first semi-final. Nadal is trying to reach his third final in Miami, having finished runner-up in 2005 and ’08. Roddick, who is the lone former champion remaining (2004), is looking to reach his second Sony Ericsson Open final.
In the evening semi-final, No. 5 seed Robin Soderling of Sweden makes his Miami semi-final debut and brings a 5-2 lifetime mark against No. 16 seed Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.
