Rafael Nadal has started a family.

No, the second-ranked Spaniard isn't going to be a father, but his success playing with Babolat racquets has prompted the launch of a line of new Babolat Nadal Junior racquets for children.

Named for the five-time Grand Slam champion the Nadal Junior racquets are designed for budding young players age four to nine.

"Our products have been used by tennis champions for over 135 years," said Eric Babolat, President and CEO of Babolat. "With this new line of Nadal Junior racquets, we hope to inspire a whole new generation of players to discover and enjoy the game of tennis."

The Nadal Junior line will make its debut in September with five new racquets. The Nadal 100, 110, 125, 140 and 145 are a lightweight aluminum construction making them ideal for beginners and juniors, and feature the same cosmetics as the top-selling adult Aeropro Drive model used by Rafael Nadal.

The new Nadal Junior racquets will be priced starting at $24.95 and available in pro and tennis specialty stores starting in September 2008.

Nadal's Aeropro Drive was designed specifically for his topspin heavy game with the use of aero-modular technology in the frame to increase the racquet head speed.

"Rafa is truly a great champion and sportsman," Babolat said. "We work closely with him to develop the right products to suit his game and are very proud of the collaboration. You can see the results he’s getting with this racquet."
