Spain's Garrigues top seed for WTA Hobart

Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues will be the top seed for next month's Hobart WTA International, according to organisers.

Garrigues, ranked 28, will be joined by fellow Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro, Israel?s Shahar Peer and the Bondarenko sisters, Kateryna and Alona, among the tournament seedings.

Canada`s Aleksandra Wozniak, China's 2005 Hobart champion Zheng Jie and Argentina's Gisela Dulko round out the seeded players for the event, which includes 17 of the world?s top 50 ranked women.

The Australian contingent will be led by Jelena Dokic and wildcard recipient Alicia Molik in the January 8-16 event ahead of the Australian Open in Melbourne.
