Three Russians climb up the WTA rankings
Three out of four Russians in the Women's Tennis Association top ten have improved their positions in the new ranking.
Svetlana Kuznetsova and Maria Sharapova, who won her first clay title over the weekend at the Amelia Island tournament in Florida, now hold third and fourth places respectively, pushing Serbia's Jelena Jankovic down to fifth.
Russia's Anna Chakvetadze moved up one place to sixth, one place above Venus Williams of the United States. Yelena Dementyeva remains the world number 8.
The top two positions on the ranking, announced weekly, remained unchanged and are held by Belgium's Justine Henin and Serbia's Anna Ivanovic.
