With the rise of Caroline Wozniacki, it was only a matter of time before the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour hit the Danish capital. And in Copenhagen this week the e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open has its first year - with Wozniacki the top seed. Wozniacki, who was Denmark's first ever Top 10 player and has been as high as No.2 in the world, is the favorite on her home turf. Already with seven Tour titles to her name - including one earlier this year on the clay courts of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida - she will open her campaign with up-and-coming Croat Petra Martic in the first round.

Li Na, who became China's first Top 10 player earlier in the year, is Wozniacki's closest challenger this week and holds the No.2 seed. Li also has one title already this year, on grass courts in Birmingham, and does have one trick up her sleeve if the two make this week's final - Li is 2-1 head-to-head against Wozniacki, which includes a perfect 2-0 so far this year.

Wimbledon semifinalists Petra Kvitova and Tsvetana Pironkova are the No.3 and No.4 seeds, respectively. Bad Gastein winner Julia Goerges, Polona Hercog, Klara Zakopalova and Angelique Kerber round out the Top 8 seeds. Former Top 20 player Katarina Srebotnik is among the unseeded contingent in the main draw.

The qualifying draw is also loaded with talent, including a few familiar names such as former Top 5 player and recent Portoroz champion Anna Chakvetadze; and former Top 20 players Anna-Lena Groenefeld, Eleni Daniilidou, Anne Kremer and Elena Bovina.
