Wozniacki heading to Sydney
World number one announces final preparation for Australian Open
World number one Caroline Wozniacki will put the finishing touches on her Australian Open preparations at the Sydney International in January.
The 20-year-old will play in the tournament, which is held at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre from January 9-15, for a third straight year.
Fellow stars Kim Clijsters, Samantha Stosur and Ana Ivanovic will also be competing there in the lead-up to the first grand slam of the year, which starts on January 17.
Tournament director Craig Watson expects seven of the top 10 players in the world to eventually be entered into the Sydney draw.
"I feel that the Sydney International is the best preparation for the Australian Open," Wozniacki said in a statement.
"All the top players will be competing there in Sydney and because of this I am confident that I'll get the matches I need."
