Novak Djokovic of Serbia has withdrawn from next week’s ATP Tour event in Los Angeles.

Tournament director Bob Kramer said Friday that Djokovic, the world’s second-ranked player, withdrew from the Farmers Classic because of undisclosed personal reasons. Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic, the 2007 winner, withdrew because of a knee injury.

Joining the field is fourth-ranked Andy Murray, who received a wild card and will be seeded No. 1 when play begins Monday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center on the UCLA campus.

Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women's Open field announced

Every 2010 Grand Slam champion is slated to play in the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women’s Open, meaning the best in men’s and women’s tennis will return to Mason Aug. 7-22.

Player commitments were announced in a midday press conference today at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

Serbia reached their first Davis Cup semi-final as Novak Djokovic beat Marin Cilic to give them victory over fierce rivals Croatia.

His 6-3 6-3 6-2 win made it 3-1 to set up a semi against the Czech Republic.

Argentina will face France in the final four after clinching a 3-2 win over Russia in a tense tie in Moscow.

Russia's Nikolay Davydenko beat Eduardo Schwank 4-6 6-3 6-1 6-4 to make it 2-2, but David Nalbandian won the decider, beating Mikhail Youzhny in three sets.

Serbia reached the Davis Cup semi-finals for the first time when they completed a 4-1 victory over Croatia in Split on Sunday.

World number two Novak Djokovic silenced a partisan crowd with a straight-sets win over Marin Cilic to give Serbia an unassailable 3-1 lead and set up a home tie against the Czech Republic, who dispatched Chile 4-1.

The win Sunday gave Serbia a 3-1 lead against in the best-of-five series.

ATP World Tour No. 2 Novak Djokovic gave Serbia a dream start in its first-ever Davis Cup quarter-final tie as he defeated Croatia’s Ivan Ljubicic 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-1 Friday on indoor hard court in Split. The Belgrade native withstood 43 winners from Ljubicic’s racquet to capitalise on five of 13 break point opportunities and seal victory in two hours and 28 minutes.

No. 2-ranked Djokovic, a semifinalist at Wimbledon, squandered a 5-2 lead in the first set but took the tiebreaker with a reflex half-volley. He broke Ljubicic in the 9th game of the second set.

Ivan Ljubicic faces Novak Djokovic in the first rubber of the eagerly anticipated Davis Cup by BNP Paribas quarterfinal between Croatia and Serbia in Split.

Ljubicic last played Davis Cup in 2007, but made himself available once again when Ivo Karlovic and Mario Ancic were both ruled out of the tie with injuries.

Djokovic holds a 5-2 lead over Ljubicic in their head-to-head count, but the Croat won their most recent meeting earlier this year at Indian Wells-1000, a tournament he went on to win.

Croatia and Serbia meet for the first time in Davis Cup competition this weekend in what is sure to be an emotional quarterfinal matchup between the former Yugoslav republics.

Croatia, Davis Cup champion in 2005, will host the best-of-five series in Split. Serbia has won only once in Davis Cup away from home since 2007, when it began playing as an independent nation.
