For the 3rd consecutive year, Wilson has been the official stringer of the US Open, one of the four Grand Slam tournaments of the year. The Wilson stringing team will string nearly 3,000 racquets in the three weeks of the tournament for all players entered in the event including the stars from the main draw, doubles, mixed doubles, juniors, wheelchair, and senior draws. As well as providing quality product and racquet expertise the world’s best tennis players, Wilson learns from the players and gains insight to develop products the athlete truly requires.

Jesse Levine and Jamea Jackson Head to Open with Dunlop Racquets
Dunlop’s next generation technology will be played by the next generation of tennis stars when Americans Jesse Levine and Jamea Jackson step onto the court at next week’s U.S. Open. The two have each signed multi-year contracts to endorse Dunlop racquets, balls and court luggage.

HEAD player Stanislas Wawrinka and partner Roger Federer earned an Olympic Gold Medal in men's doubles after a 6-3, 6-4, 6-7(4), 6-3 victory over the Swedish team of Thomas Johansson and HEAD player Simon Aspelin, who took home the Silver Medal. On their way to the gold medal, Wawrinka and Federer defeated the No. 1 seeded Bryan brothers, playing for the US team, 7-6(6), 6-4.

For first time ATP releases a three year calendar of events
The ATP, governing body of the men’s professional tennis circuit, today announced the 2009, 2010 and 2011 calendars, all of which will include a new event in Johannesburg, South Africa, the final city destination to be announced on the new-look ATP World Tour from 2009. Johannesburg joins 62 other tournaments in 31 countries.

Billie Jean King To Serve As Campaign Spokesperson
The USTA today announced an increased commitment to long-term environmental initiatives at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, home of the US Open, which annually hosts more than 700,000 fans during the two weeks of the event. One of tennis’ most respected champions and the tennis facility’s namesake, Billie Jean King, will participate in the USTA’s awareness campaign to encourage US Open fans and others to help preserve the environment.

Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) will hold a New England Professional Development Day on October 12, 2008, at the Middlebury Racquet Club in Middlebury, Connecticut. The event is open to all PTR and USPTA teaching professionals, high school and college coaches, as well as team captains and club players.
